Please join us on Friday, July 12, 2019, for a telephonic press briefing with Sam Brownback, Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom. Ambassador Brownback will preview the 2019 Ministerial for the Advancement of Religious Freedom. He will take questions from participating journalists.

BIO:

Sam Brownback was sworn in as the U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom for the Department of State on February 1, 2018. Prior to this appointment, he served as Governor of Kansas from 2011 to 2018. Previously he served as a U.S. Senator from 1996 to 2011 and a U.S. Representative in the House of Representatives from 1995 to 1996 from Kansas. While a member of the Senate, he worked actively on the issue of religious freedom in multiple countries and was a key sponsor of the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998.
